New Logic III (The Tube) one of most sustainable logistic buildings in the world

NewLogic III at the ‘Het Laar’ business park in Tilburg may call itself the second most sustainable building in the world in the ‘Industrial Building’ category. The gas-free logistics centre developed by Dokvast received the BREEAM Outstanding Delivery Certificate with an impressive final score of 99.48%.

As BREEAM Assessor, C2N was closely involved in the BREEAM certification process.

The building, also known as The Tube, is the new Dutch headquarters of Rhenus Contract Logistics. Jos Klanderman, managing director of Dokvast, who developed the building, explains: “We almost achieved the maximum score in all categories: from management, health and transport to waste, land use and ecology.

NewLogic III has a total surface area of approximately 60,500 sqm, of which approximately 40,000 sqm. warehouse, 4,500 sqm. office space and 16,000 sqm. VAL (Value Added Logistics), can be expanded by another 15,000 sqm. VAL. The building is characterized by a high degree of flexibility and its layout by use of compartments, a high floor load, 45 dock doors and the possibility of extending the mezzanine floors. At the end of 2018, the building was occupied by Rhenus Contract Logistics.
