The New Atrium – Amsterdam

The Atrium complex is located in the heart of the most important business district ‘De Zuidas’ in Amsterdam. It is a unique building because of its transparency which is expressed in the large open atrium where sunlight can flow in freely. The Atrium complex consists of a trio of existing towers and two new towers (North and South towers). The complex also contains a new underground parking garage with a capacity of 532 parking spaces with charging points for electric vehicles. There is a large covered bicycle shed, with additional facilities such as changing rooms and showers. The building is also easily accessible by public transport.

The existing Atrium consists of three buildings (towers I, II and III) that have been renovated. The goal of the renovation was to modernise the Atrium without losing its unique character, and even to highlight the uniqueness of this building even more. The New Atrium is a place where you can work, meet and relax optimally. Recently the BREEAM-NL In Use certificate has been obtained for this renovated part of the building with a Very Good *** classification.

The two new towers are both in height and style in harmony with the existing Atrium. Sustainable materials, passive design measures, energy efficient installations and water saving solutions in the sanitary facilities have been used. Recently, both towers have obtained the final BREEAM-NL New Building & Renovation Completion Certificate with an Excellent **** classification. For this project C2N has fulfilled the role of BREEAM-NL Expert.
