DC Bijenkorf & Ingram Micro

The Bijenkorf department store group will supply its 7 department stores in the Netherlands from a new large distribution centre. The e-fulfilment activities will also be carried out in the DC. Bijenkorf has outsourced these activities to logistics service provider Ingram Micro CLS Benelux.

Ingram Micro CLS Benelux has signed a long-term lease agreement with logistics real estate developer HVBM Vastgoed, which is developing the distribution centre on the Kraaiven business park in the logistics hotspot in Tilburg. The logistics service provider will have 41,553 sqm. of warehouse space, 6,546 sqm. of mezzanine and 3,233 sqm. office space available in the DC. It is expected that from this building more than 14 million items will be shipped per year in 2020.

The sustainable and gas-free building will be custom developed (turnkey, red.) and realized according to the highest standard in logistics real estate. The logistics real estate developer and Ingram Micro want to realise a distribution centre that meets the BREEAM standard of Outstanding. This high level of sustainability is expressed, among other things, by an energy-efficient and gas-free climate installation (full-electric) and by the use of sustainable LED lighting.

As BREEAM-NL Assessor, C2N is involved in the BREEAM sustainability process. The BREEAM-NL Design Certificate has been achieved in 2018, score Outstanding.
