Mall of The Netherlands
After the expansion and renovation in 2020, shopping centre Leidsenhage will continue as ‘Mall of the Netherlands’ and will become the largest shopping centre in the Netherlands. Mall of the Netherlands will be a unique and fully covered shopping centre, with an incredibly high level of service (four stars), where visitors can enjoy a day-long shopping experience.
In a beautiful building designed by MVSA Architects, many flagship stores of (inter)national retailers together with distinctive catering establishments, a cinema with ten screens, the fresh market and the Designer Gallery, will ensure a wonderful visit. Unibail-Rodamco is investing more than €500 million in the realisation of the plans. The redevelopment started in 2015 and is expected to be completed during the first half of 2020.
Unibail-Rodamco is committed to a high level of sustainability certification. All of Unibail-Rodamco’s shopping centres meet these conditions. The Mall of the Netherlands is also progressive in this respect. This not only concerns the lowest possible energy consumption and good waste separation, but also, for example, in terms of the creation of jobs and work experience placements.
As BREEAM-NL Assessor, C2n is closely involved in the project. During spring of 2018, the BREEAM-NL Design Certificate was obtained, score Very Good.
