Life Science Incubator office building - Utrecht
Since 2004, we have been delivering sustainable and financially responsible real estate solutions. Through strategic advice and leading projects, we are shaping the future of real estate.
Details: Innovative sustainable design features, use of solar panels and WKO system.
The Life Science Incubator (LSI) at the Utrecht Science Park is the second incubator in the life sciences sector, designed to meet the growing housing demand for start-ups in this sector. The construction is partially financed by subsidies from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union, along with contributions from the Municipality of Utrecht and the Province of Utrecht.
This sustainable and transparent building is designed with the goal of fostering connection and collaboration. The slanted positioning of the facade, combined with sun-shielding glazing, provides natural sun and heat protection. This not only helps reduce energy use but also contributes to the lifecycle costs of the building by requiring less maintenance and replacement.
The high-frequency lighting helps reduce energy consumption, while the 394 m² solar panels on the roof provide necessary energy. The connection to the heat-cold storage (WKO) system ensures an environmentally friendly and comfortable indoor climate.
On October 30, 2017, the Life Science Incubator received the Completion Certificate with a BREEAM-NL Excellent rating. C2N played the role of BREEAM Expert during this project.
Create value, reduce impact – choose sustainable real estate.
The choices we make today shape the livability of tomorrow.
