In 2018, Altera Vastgoed N.V. certified a large portion of its real estate portfolio using the BREEAM In-Use methodology. This primarily involved a wide range of retail properties that together form the Altera Retail Fund portfolio, including shopping centers, home & living boulevards, retail stores, and supermarkets.

During the re-certification of the portfolio in 2021, C2N played a crucial role, acting as BREEAM Expert for many of the properties (67 assessments). The certification was conducted for various shopping centers, retail stores, and supermarkets across the Netherlands.

The certified properties in the portfolio included the following:

• Shopping Center Het Rond – Houten

• Shopping Center Zwolle Zuid

• Shopping Center Marktplein – Wormerveer

Additionally, several retail stores and supermarkets were certified in locations such as:

• Various stores and supermarkets in Utrecht, Oosterhout, Heemstede, Epe, Breda, Den Bosch, Brummen, Voorthuizen, Apeldoorn, Putten, Gouda, Den Haag.

C2N performed the BREEAM assessments for these properties and provided advice on optimizing the sustainability performance of the assets. The successful re-certification of the portfolio highlights Altera Vastgoed’s commitment to sustainability in its retail real estate and improving the energy efficiency and environmental impact of the buildings involved.
