City Hall – Tilburg
Since 2004, we have been delivering sustainable and financially responsible real estate solutions. Through strategic advice and leading projects, we are shaping the future of real estate.
Key Features: Iconic building, BREEAM Outstanding, large-scale renovation.
The Tilburg City Hall, also known as “The Black Box,” was originally designed in 1971 by architect Kraaijvanger and is an iconic landmark in the city. The building is fully clad in black granite and is connected to the Palace, a national monument that houses ceremonial wedding halls.
Despite its significance, the building no longer met modern standards. The technical installations were outdated, and fire safety measures were insufficient, prompting a large-scale renovation. The municipality deliberately opted for renovation over new construction, significantly reducing the use of materials and resources by reusing the existing structure.
C2N served as the BREEAM Assessor for this project, which received a BREEAM “Outstanding” rating upon completion.
Insightful real estate advice doesn’t just focus on today – it builds for tomorrow.
Technical expertise and sustainability advice are not separate pieces – they form one integrated strategy.
